Yesterday was another long day in a series of endless long days. Heavy thunderstorms roamed through the area all day, and I got the inside of my car washed in one early shower incident. Despite the storm factor we had some beautiful intervals of sunshine, and I insisted my client not postpone our shoot in the afternoon.

Jordan, his mother, and I spent a few hours yesterday getting some senior pictures taken. From the streets and alleyways of Main Street Stroudsburg, to a graveyard, and finally ending up at Mountain View Park. We only had to dodge a little bit of drizzle at one point, and overall I think it went very well.

Shane's Hellabalooza Birthday Bash

I have some friends that tend to lean a little towards the dark side, and that's cool because deep down a part of me loves to get in touch with the demons within. Besides that, the under-worlders are much more fun than your average folk..

So my friend Shane threw his birthday party this year with a mandatory demon dress code. Although I swear most of these guys and gals look like this all the time. Shane is a makeup artist in the horror realm, as well as having produced a few short films, and many photographs along with. Visit him on Facebook:

Sweet 16 Masquerade Under the Stars

I recently photographed a sweet 16 party for a wonderful Indian family at a local resort. I wanted to put it on my blog because it was a really exciting, beyond the norm (for me anyway) party. The extraordinary dresses worn by some of the women (called saris?)..the jewelry (bangles).. all popping with color and extravagant style.. It's quite more appealing than your typical wedding black and white tux's and dresses. The dance and the entertainment was quite a show as well. All in all, a good time was had by everyone, including me.

I expressed my thanks to the family for having me there that evening. They were very satisfied with my services, and absolutely adore all the photos, and have insisted on covering more family events and needs in the future.

The Age of Innocence

I know at times I feel like I'd like to be a kid again. To have no responsibilities, to wake up every day knowing that everything I need will be there, and it isn't even a thought or concern. To have no real agenda, and to just roll through the day doing one thing after the next at my leisure. I think that's why the lottery seems so appealing.

The reality is that I do enjoy some of the responsibilities of the adult life (note that I said some).  As I get older and more mature; interests and what is important to me have changed a bit. What's also imperative is that I hope I never lose the awe and wonder of life that I had as a child. The laughter, the silliness, the ability to not always take things so seriously.. To not really care so much what others think of me, not have to impress..

I think as grow into adults, we begin to be exposed to the society around us. We begin to have expectations of ourselves(and others), and slowly develop deep ingrained fears.. which mostly we don't realize, and they begin to drive us in our lives. Running on a sense of who I need to be, how I need to be, what I need to do, and what I need to be okay in this lifetime.. causing stress, and anxiety, issues... literally self-induced..

I think that sense of wanting to be a child again comes from the feeling deep down to want to be truly free.. And the coolest thing is that we can be free as adults.. If we wake up, and truly take a look at ourselves, our lives, and what's truly important..

Anyway, this post was really meant to show off a few photos of I have done of children...but as I started I had these thoughts.. ;)
